leader with real substance; her story encompasses manifestation of how

Saturday, 29 March 2014, was the day. The place was Civo Stadium in the capital, Lilongwe.
On this particular day, all roads and streets led to this particular stadium and it was pertinent the ground and sky can turn orange when a beach of orange sand gather at one place and fill in beyond capacity.
Yet in the words of one, Ireen Chikuni,
the organizing chairperson of the event, there is nowhere in Lilongwe
such a flamboyant occasion can be held except at the giant civo.
But it will go in the lane of history that this particular day challenged its space.
One woman Phallyce Phiri did not hide any words: “I have never seen a huge crowd like this one. I think we needed the entire open air ground particularly at airport.”
PEOPLE’S PARTY LAUNCHING ITS CAMPAIGN IN STYLE
The governing People’s Party has really made life difficult for its opponents. It has set extraordinary standards.
Right from the onset of sunrise, the ground was already shaking like a shot by mad earth tremor.
The sun itself showed itself in orange. It was friendly, amicable, protruding and fabulous.
At around 9:30am President Joyce Banda turn up at the ground. Her coming itself was like the entry of a triumphant immortal prince.
A convoy of motor bikes and porch cars accompanied her. Inside all these were PP voters.
And there were giant orange buses gracing and quaking the place.
But higher up, the sun was sparkling like silver but still friendly.
TWO YEARS OF DESIGNATED MIRACLES PORTRAYED
“…It has been two years since we are witnessing the increase from 281 megawatts to 352 megawatts of electricity generated and the rolling out of Malawi Rural Electrification Programme (MAREP 7) to 81 Trading Centres across the country; It has been two years since we have seen availability of maize in ADMARC markets across the country at reasonable prices and our people no longer fight for madeya.
It has been two years after devaluation of the Kwacha and now we are witnessing inflation rates coming down; and the Kwacha regaining strength.”
And in the words of Her Excellency Dr. Joyce Banda: “We inherited an economy that was in crisis. Today we have turned around that economy. Indeed, in the short time I have been President, we have taken decisive action to heal the country, recover the economy, and build a strong foundation for growth.
With confidence, we can say with joy that: ‘It has been two years since our people spent hours on queues looking for fuel;
It has been two years since our people and businesses struggled to access foreign exchange;”

President Joyce Banda is now the sole source of hope to millions of Malawians.
They are desperate for her transformational leadership.
Malawians, according to Gwengwe look to leaders of action as opposed to cats at podiums.
He said: “In the two years you have been in power, you have shown Malawians that it is possible to transform Malawi and take it to another level.”
President Banda also indicated: “The journey to revamping our economy has been difficult but rewarding, today our economy that was sinking is growing, President Joyce Banda.”
